I pasted the code under the about me section and it shows the background when i preview the section but when i save and go to my page it is the default screen. Can someone help me?

It's not going to show on your homepage -- just your profile page.

Click back and forth between your profile and your homepage and you'll see it's still there.

And make sure that you save all changes after you preview the profile.

It is not going to show up on the main screen you look at. you have to click profile under your picture to View it, If it does not show up on your profile then chances are there is something wrong with the code and you will have to find a new background.
