I usually look on xanga to find backgrounds and images to make layouts, but I haven't found any good sites lately. Can anyone reccomend some? No glittery images please.

some suggested deviant art to me once, but i think you should ask the person before you use their work on your page and make sure you give them credit if they do let you. they have some really pretty stuff there.
